Job summary
The post holder will be responsible through the Head of Recovery Services, Northern Sector and the Social Work Lead for Adult Mental Health for:
- The development and delivery of high quality Day Care services, Trust wide
- The development and delivery of high quality Social Work practice through Social work governance arrangements
- Monitoring of contracts with partner organisations for delivery of day opportunitie
- The development and delivery of short breaks, Trust wide
- Will implement the recommendations of the ‘Review of Mental Health Day Centres’, working with the Head of Recovery Services Northern Sector in the strategic planning of these services, ensuring effective multidisciplinary working and the most efficient use of resources
- He/she will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of a performance management framework and provide clear leadership and operational management
- He/she will be responsible to the Head of Recovery Services for ensuring the achievement of agreed performance targets and service improvement initiatives
- The post holder shall co-ordinate these activities with other Directorates as necessary and in conjunction with agreed Trust policies
- He/she will be responsible for ensuring high standards of patient and client safety and clinical and social care governance
Main responsibilities
- Ensure that services within his/her sphere of control are delivered as specified within the Trust’s Business Plan and meet all RQIA registration requirements
- Contribute to the professional development of social work and ASW within Adult Mental Health Service
- Develop strong links with Adult Mental Health Services. He/she will be expected to develop close links throughout Trust’s area both in terms of involving service users, carers, General Practitioners, Independent Sector organisations and other key stakeholders in the planning of Mental Health Services
- Undertake supervision of social workers in line with Regional Social Work Supervision Policy (HSS(ossol/RITT)-1-2008)
- Ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of agreed quality enhancement programmes
- Ensure compliance with RQIA and implement all actions following inspection
- Keep abreast of workforce, skill-mix and training issues and to ensure that training plans are regularly reviewed and updated
- Lead a team to deliver high quality, safe and effective services for people requiring Day Opportunities and short breaks
- Promote the Recovery ethos and the ImROC principles in all activities
