Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for providing technical support, configuration/installation and advice (where appropriate) for the Trusts ICT Network and Infrastructure Services platforms including (but not limited to):
- Network hardware and software deployment
- LAN/WAN configuration, maintenance and security
- Wireless network configuration, maintenance and security
- Network hardware and software IOS image and version upgrades
- Network fault troubleshooting and resolution
- DHCP configuration
- Asset managing of new equipment
- Cyber security risk management
The post holder will also support the ICT Network manager and:
- Assist in the development of ICT Network Services Policies and Procedures
- Ensure adherence to ICT Security Governance
- Assist in appropriate Security Investigations
- Ensure Service Continuity and Disaster Recovery within post holders remit.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the ICT Network Manager in the resolution of Incidents, Requests and Problems relating to ICT Network
- Support the ICT Network Manager in the adherence to the ICT Change Management Procedures for all ICT changes relating to Network and advising colleagues on any ICT Network elements of ICT Change Requests
- Assist the ICT Network Manager in the resolution of ICT Network related Problems within the ICT Department, providing guidance to ICT colleagues on Problem Resolution for ICT Network elements of Problems
- Advise on ICT Network elements of ICT Continuity and Disaster Recovery within the ICT Technical Team including participation in Desktop exercises when required
- Assist in the development and communication of relevant ICT Network related policies, procedures, standards and guidance. Ensuring all related documentation is in line with the latest national and regional standards, best practice and recognised ISO standards
- Assist the ICT Senior Management Team in appropriate ICT Audits (internal and external) ensuring timely responses to all audit reports. Ensure all subsequent actions plans are implemented and followed up
- Participate in and undertake appropriate tasks relating to ICT Network for both local and regional ICT Technical Programmes of work, reporting on progress as required
- Represent the Trust in both local and regional forums and other collaborative projects and structures
- Coordinating efforts of third parties in provision of ICT Network related support
- Support the ICT Network Manager in the facilitation of investigations into suspected abuse of the ICT Technical Systems and Services
- Support the ICT Network Manager in ensuring that robust tested backup and business continuity procedures are in place for Technical systems and services
- Ensure the ICT Network Manager is notified of events which impact service delivery
- Participate in On-Call duties as per the ICT On-Call Rota
- Engage in personal and professional development to ensure an expert level of knowledge of ICT Technical Systems and Services appropriate to the needs of the post
- Liaise and meet with suppliers as required ensuring good relationships are maintained
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the ICT Network Manager.
