Job summary
This post is an opportunity to work within the Western Trust. It will also allow the successful candidates to build their CV and develop and enhance clinical skills and procedures. Candidates are encouraged to pursue an interest like medical education, simulation, quality improvement in their specific specialty.
Educational and career development opportunities will be a priority.
Successful candidates will be supported to prepare and gain experience to obtain Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in the United Kingdom in their recognised specialty.
The post forms a core component of the medical staffing. The successful applicants will join a vibrant team of supportive Consultants, specialty doctors, and resident doctors to deliver high quality services to patients. They will be responsible for the review of existing patients and participation on consultant ward rounds. They will be required to liaise with specialty teams, request appropriate investigations, and formulate management plans.
Main responsibilities
- The daily review of inpatients.
- Participation in consultant ward rounds.
- Requesting appropriate investigations and initiating management plans.
- Liaising with other specialties and the multidisciplinary team as needed.
- The post holder will have protected, supported and supervised 1 SPA per week to allow them to pursue an interest in either: Medical Education, Simulation; Quality Improvement, or medical specialist procedural experience.
