Contract and hours: Temporary / Full Time - up to 7 September 2026 initially

Overview

Supported Living provides services for individuals with enduring Mental Health problems who require support to continue living independently in the community.  Service Users are offered support and care on the basis of assessed need within an agreed support plan which seeks to maximise independence, autonomy and choice.  The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the Supported Living Facility.  They will also contribute to the wider organisational plans in relation to the development of supported living schemes.  The post holder will report to the Head of Service for Supported Living and ensure that staff and facilities meet all requirements in relation to good governance.  The post holder will play a key role in facilitating RQIA and Supporting People Inspection processes and taking forward any recommendations in relation to same.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure that the appropriate arrangements are in place for the assessment, planning and implementation of individual support and care plans completed in conjunction with service users and their carers utilising a person centred approach which recognises the service user as an expert in their own care right.
  • Monitor standards of care, evaluate same, take direct action and provide leadership to maintain standards at an appropriate level.
  • Maintain duty rostering systems which facilitate the most effective use of staff resources.
  • Facilitate the service vision to allow opportunities within the wider community in relation to education, employment and learning.
  • Promote and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
  • Implement all agreed policies and report on the effectiveness of same.
  • Provide supervision to staff in accordance with professional supervision requirements e.g. social care staff and nursing staff.
  • Ensure that staff appraisal and development arrangements are adhered to in line with Trust requirements.
  • Ensure systems are in place to monitor staff compliance with relevant professional registration requirements (NISCC, NMC).
  • Ensure training needs of staff are regularly evaluated and training plans developed, based on personal, developmental and organisational need.
  • Facilitate the placement of student learners and afford them opportunities to meet their educational objectives.
  • Ensure the facility and staff are compliant within Domiciliary Care Regulations and Domiciliary Care Minimum Standards.
