The Organisation
Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community-based services to people with intellectual disabilities in the West Dublin area.
We support people with a wide range of support needs across residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training.
Role Purpose
To provide a person-centered, evidence-based speech and language therapy service to Service Users in Stewarts Care. This incorporates the provision of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) management and the provision of supports for Service Users’ communication skills, using a variety of approaches. The post holder will work in conjunction with members of the multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life of the Service Users of Stewarts Care.
The Person
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Speech and Language Studies from the University of Dublin or equivalent qualification. Professional Qualifications received outside the Republic of Ireland including the U.K must be validated by the Validation unit of CORU prior to commencement of employment.
- Registered with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Membership or eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT).
- Minimum of three years satisfactory post qualification experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Evidence of the ability to achieve results through effective collaboration in a complex environment.
Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health consolidated pay scales. Salary Scale is Senior Speech and Language Therapist: €63,279-€74,509 per annum pro-rata.
