There is an immediate Permanent Part-Time (22.5hpw) vacancy available.
This post is predominately based at Waterside Health Centre but it is considered a Trust wide post and there will be an expectation to cover clinics at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex and South West Acute Hospital at times.
The post involves the role of chaperone and assisting the Coil fitter with coil clinics, setting up clinics daily, overseeing the upkeep of the clinic by stocking up supplies and equipment in all clinic rooms and the ordering of stock. The post holder will also receive training to be able to cover administrative duties e.g. answering calls ,meeting and greeting clients on arrival to the clinic.

Job summary
This post is a new development within the Specialist Nursing Teams in Sexual & Reproductive Health Service.
- The post holder is required to provide and assist in all aspects of direct personal care for patients/ clients and to carry out other assigned tasks in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
- Support Medical/ Nursing Staff to ensure a high standard of safe and effective person centred.
- Provide direct care to patients attending the Sexual & Reproductive Health Setting, including for Early Medical Abortion (EMA) if required and ensure the smooth running of each patient episode.
- Provide clinical and administrative support to the clinical team.
- Support the clinical team with active case management to patients.
- Provide education and relevant resources to patients and wider multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensure that all information regarding patients is kept in strict confidence
Main responsibilities
- Deal courteously with patients, relatives, visitors and others with whom they come into contact in the course of their duties.
- Communicate effectively with patients and others at an appropriate level taking into account their clinical conditions and differing levels of ability to understand.
- Observe and report any changes in patients’ conditions or behaviour to relevant nursing staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times, regarding patients and staff.
- Record and/or pass on messages to the Nurse-in-Charge as required.
- Report issues and complaints to relevant nursing staff as required.
- Always act in a courteous and respectful manner.
- To provide a point of contact for patients and medical/clinical staff, ensuring that client concerns are answered with skill, sensitivity and expediency.
- Work under the direction of the registered clinical practitioner and assist in the implementation of care according to the patients individualised care plan.
- To provide basic resuscitation to patients and call for expert assistance in case of need.
- Promote the concept of self-care and monitoring to patients.
- Contribute effectively as a member of the Multi-professional team building appropriate relationships.
- Working on own initiative and within the limitations of the role; always promoting high quality care.
