Contract and Hours: Permanent and Full-time (10PA's)

 

Job Summary:

To provide specialist cardiology services as part of the provision of acute medical services within the Medical Division, Acute Services Directorate, Western Health and Social Care Trust and to contribute to the development of excellence in clinical practice through research, audit and participation in clinical and social care governance.

 

Primary Responsibility

Prime responsibility is for patient care, best diagnosis and team leadership. The successful applicant will also be involved in Clinical Governance, education and training.

 

Key Clinical Tasks

  • The successful applicant will promote and develop multidisciplinary teamwork within the specialty and will communicate effectively with all agencies and personnel involved in providing cardiology services.
  • Will work together with his/her cardiology colleagues in the further development of cardiology services in the area.
  • Will hold outpatient clinics as required for patients within the specialty group and will be responsible along with the other consultants for providing non-invasive cardiology procedures and providing care for acute and convalescent cardiology patients.
  • Will be responsible for providing high quality cardiology services complementary to the existing medical workforce and will develop same in keeping with medical advances.
  • Will work together with his/her cardiology colleagues in the further development of cardiology service in the area.
