Job summary
The Personality Disorder Service provides Trust wide services for individuals experiencing personality disorder, The Team Manager will play a key role in re-organisation and re-engineering of Personality Disorder Resources to provide an appropriate service response for individuals presenting with Personality Disorder.
The post holder will work closely with the lead of the PD service to ensure the most appropriate use of financial and human resources and to ensure adherence to expected standard and continuity of service delivery.
He or she will be directly responsible to ensure day to day co-ordination of the services provided by the Personality Disorder Team and for ensuring that systems and policies are in place to support operational effectiveness, clinical governance and high quality service delivery.
Main responsibilities
- Maintain continuing responsibility for a reduced caseload.
- Ensure systems for appropriate allocation of referrals and review of caseloads
- in keeping with agreed standards are maintained.
- Ensure identified targets in respect of the Trust contacts for the provision of Personality Disorder Service in terms of activity, quality and costs are met.
- Ensure availability of Personality Disorder Service across the service catchment area.
- Organise team meetings and participate in review of service practice in response
- to changing needs.
- Monitor staff adherence to the agreed Trust and Team policies, seek to resolve
- problems as they arise and involve the Clinical Services Manger as appropriate.
- Ensure the adequate arrangements are made to cover annual leave, study
- leave, sick leave etc.
- Take the lead in assuring that locality-based services are provided in a way
- which respects choice, dignity and participation of service users.
- Ensure effective collaboration between other community services including
- voluntary and other statutory agencies, maximising integration and the use of
- local resources
- Ensure that services are accessible, sensitive and responsive to the needs of
- clients and are utilised to achieve the maximum effect within available
- resources.
- Ensure appropriate information is provided to the client and their family in
- relation to their condition and possible courses of treatment.
- Maintain an overview of the Team’s budget including goods and services and
- travel and ensure action is taken to address over spends.
- Ensure that team members act in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
- in relation to Western Trust guidance on Care Management procedures.
- Develop close links with the community and keep Clinical Services Manager informed
- of local community developments and areas of identified need and any deficits in
- service provision.
- Ensure users and carers are involved in decisions which affect the delivery of care.
