About Us

Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation, funded by the HSE under Section 38. We support people with intellectual disabilities through residential care, day services, independent living, job advocacy, and vocational training.

Purpose of the Post

Stewarts Care is establishing a Young Adults Multi-Disciplinary Team, on behalf of HSE IHA Dublin North City and County. This population includes people with autism and intellectual disability. The Young Adults MDT will work collaboratively with the person, their families and day service providers to support full participation, belonging, relationships, inclusion and self–determination for people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Specialist – Behaviour Support will work on a Specific Purpose Contract (6 months – 12 months).

The purpose of this post is to provide specialist expertise in the area of Positive Behaviour Support to young adults in the North City and County area. The post holder will work as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team providing a person-centred and quality service.

 

Essential Criteria

  • A Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) qualification OR eligibility to achieve this certification is an advantage OR an equivalent status.
  • Holds a higher qualification in the area of behavioural assessment and intervention e.g., MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis (incorporates the principles of behaviour, functional assessment, function-based interventions, and applied settings (e.g., health services or schools).
  • 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification experience working as a Behaviour Therapist.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working as a Behaviour Therapist for people who present with an intellectual disability/autism
  • Experience of working with families and direct support staff teams
  • Evidence of participation in continued professional development.
  • Holds a full clean driving license and access to a car.
  • Demonstrates competence and capability of undertaking the duties attached to the office.
  • Possesses the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

Salary

In line with the Department of Health consolidated pay scales, the current salary scale is Occupational Therapist, Senior; 64,551 - €76,007 per annum.
