Job Summary
To work as part of a team providing general cleaning, catering or laundry duties ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, food service and fresh linen is delivered and maintained in all areas.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out duties and responsibilities in a manner which assures patient and client safety, at all times.
Catering Services
· Providing beverages, preparation / cooking of meals, light snacks including the regeneration of chilled / frozen product sandwiches and salads.
· To portion and serve meals and snacks to patients, staff and customers.
· Checking and recording food temperatures.
· Recording fridge and chiller temperatures.
· Collection and disposal of all environmental waste.
· Mechanical and manual dishwashing.
· Stock Control.
· Cleaning duties including all food areas, cutlery, crockery, utensils and equipment.
· Preparing trolleys and tables for meals.
· Deliver and collection of trolleys as directed.
· To collect cash when required for items of food or beverages.
· Assist in menu collation.
· Prepare for and serve at Trust hospitalities and functions.
Housekeeping:
· Cleaning of all sanitary areas and appliances.
· Cleaning of all furniture and fittings and all floor areas.
· Removal and rehanging of all curtains and blinds.
· Operate industrial cleaning equipment.
· Full and spot cleaning of walls, windows, glass partitions, paintwork.
· Dust control of higher surfaces.
· Receipt and storage of cleaning materials.
· Collection and disposal of all environmental waste.
· Replenishing all hand towels, soap, toilet rolls etc.
· General security of areas (may include operation of electronic alarms).
· Cleaning of spills including bodily fluids, in keeping with the Trust’s policy on control of infection.
· Carry out catering and laundry duties as required.
· Completion of Environmental Cleanliness Audits Action plans.
· Complete safety check on all equipment prior to use.
· Recording use by dates on cleaning solution containers.
Laundry Services
· Collecting of soiled linens and personal clothing, counting and recording same ready for processing either manually or through the Benchmark System.
· Sorting linens and personal clothing for processing.
· Load, operate and unload washing machines, tumble dryers, tunnel finisher.
· Folding fully dried work manually or by machine.
· Operate pressing machines to finish personal clothing and staff uniforms.
· Packing of clean linens for dispatch.
· Quality control of all linens and garments.
· Assist in the loading and unloading of vans and service vehicles as required.
· Safe custody of all linens, clean or soiled in linen rooms or laundry.
· Cleaning duties to include all laundry areas and store rooms.
· Cleaning and general maintenance of laundry equipment.
· Collection and disposal of environmental waste.
