Location: South West Acute Hospital

Contract and hours: Temporary, Full Time (40 hours per week) / 10- PAs

 

Purpose Of Role:

To support Consultants in the provision of care to patients in Western Health & Social care Trust.

 

The Work Of The Department

There are approximately 1,000 – 1,200 deliveries per year. There is also Gynae elective surgery carried out at this site, and at the Omagh site located approx. 30 miles away.

 

Duties Of Post

  • General care of all patients in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Work will be flexibly and equally divided between Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Duties are based at South west Acute Hospital and assistance is required at peripheral clinics in Omagh Hospital and Primary care complex.
  • So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties, the postholder must undertake to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues
  • The postholder must undertake, exceptionally, to be available for such irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
  •  
  • The doctor should attend Junior Staff Committee Meetings and might be elected to represent all Junior Staff and to attend Senior Medical Staff Committee Meetings.
